Community Support Workers
The role of the Community Support Worker is to work with the Task Force Community Representatives and the wider community to increase awareness about drugs misuse and its associated challenges in the area and to encourage positive change.
This is done by
- running health promotion and drug awareness campaigns
- producing locally based high quality ongoing drug awareness newsletters
- promoting support services in the area through production of a drug and related services Directory maintain the Task Force Website,
- developing a resource library
- responding to information and research requests from organisations and individuals
- supporting the Community Representatives on the Task Force and coordinating local elections for Community Representation on the Task Force.
Resources that have been produced by the Community Support Worker include
